CHANGES TO DRIVING TEST BOOKINGS

New 2026 DVSA rules will tighten how driving tests are booked in West London. From 12 May, only learners can manage their own bookings—no instructors or third-party services. From 9 June, you can only switch to nearby test centres, ending the tactic of booking far away and changing later. The goal is to stop reselling and bots, but it means you’ll need to act fast, book early, and stay on top of cancellations

We recommend you book atleast an hours driving lessons before your driving test and preferentially a two hour driving lesson if the test is not in an area you are familiar with.

Managing Those Driving Test Nerves

Driving in London can be nerve-wracking, even for experienced drivers. It's crucial to have practiced techniques for managing your nerves and staying calm and focused during the test. This skill will also serve you well in the vital months after passing, as you navigate the city's roads independently. We recommend you take a mock driving test with an unfamiliar driving instructor prior to your driving test to simulate exam driving test conditions

If you're making serious or dangerous mistakes during your lessons, it's a clear indication that you're not yet ready to pass the driving test and drive on your own. Brushing off those errors as "silly mistakes" is a red flag and an indicator you are "Not Ready".

Answer: You can change your driving test date for free if do it at least 3 full working days (Monday to Saturday) before your booked driving test date.
